Professor(a) Temporário(a) de História e Geografia (BHG) – Middle School

The International School of Curitiba (ISC) seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic temporary MS BHG Teacher to join our Middle School & Brazilian Program team. This position is a temporary assignment with a minimum duration of 60 days, intended to cover the regular classroom teacher during a leave period.
The role is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, rigorous, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences in Brazilian History and Geography for students in grades 6–8. The teacher will support students in developing an understanding of Brazil’s cultural, historical, social, and geographical diversity, while encouraging critical thinking, inquiry skills, and respectful dialogue around sensitive and complex topics.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong pedagogical knowledge, effective classroom management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to design and deliver lessons aligned with Brazilian national standards (BNCC) and ISC’s educational philosophy. Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to quickly integrate into an established classroom environment are essential for this temporary role.

Esta é uma posição temporária, com duração mínima de 60 dias, destinada à cobertura do professor regente durante um período de afastamento.
O(a) profissional será responsável por planejar e conduzir experiências de aprendizagem engajadoras, desafiadoras e apropriadas ao desenvolvimento dos alunos nas disciplinas de História e Geografia do Brasil para estudantes do 6º ao 8º ano. O objetivo é apoiar os alunos no desenvolvimento da compreensão da diversidade cultural, histórica, social e geográfica do Brasil, ao mesmo tempo em que se estimulam habilidades de pensamento crítico, investigação e diálogo respeitoso sobre temas complexos e sensíveis.
O(a) candidato(a) ideal demonstra sólido conhecimento pedagógico, boa gestão de sala de aula, habilidades eficazes de comunicação e capacidade de planejar e conduzir aulas alinhadas à BNCC e à filosofia educacional da ISC. Flexibilidade, adaptabilidade e capacidade de integrar-se rapidamente a um ambiente de sala de aula já estabelecido são características essenciais para esta função temporária.

  • Contribute to school events, field trips, and interdisciplinary projects when applicable.

  • Work collaboratively with the Middle School team to ensure a smooth transition before, during, and after the temporary coverage period.

  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that respects and celebrates cultural diversity.
  • Graduação em História e/ou Geografia.
  • Licenciatura válida para atuação docente.
  • Disponibilidade para atuar em contrato temporário, com duração mínima prevista de 60 dias, para cobertura do professor regente.
  • Mestrado na área ou em Educação será considerado um diferencial.
  • Português avançado; conhecimento de inglês desejável para comunicação em um ambiente escolar internacional.
