The International School of Curitiba (ISC) seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join our Middle School team. This role is responsible for teaching science to students in grades 6–8, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for scientific inquiry. The teacher will design engaging lessons aligned with international standards, integrate hands-on and inquiry-based learning, and contribute to ISC’s mission of preparing students for a rapidly changing world.

- Incorporate inquiry-based and project-based learning to engage students in scientific thinking and experimentation.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and respect.
- Use assessment data to inform instruction, monitor student progress, and provide timely feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments and grade levels to ensure curriculum alignment and a consistent learning experience.
- Provide meaningful assessments and feedback on student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with families.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and learning goals.
- Participate actively in professional development, faculty meetings, and school-wide initiatives.
- Contribute to the extracurricular life of the school, supporting activities that enrich student learning and community engagement.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to coordinate activities and ensure a cohesive educational experience.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Foster an inclusive classroom that respects and celebrates cultural diversity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science Education or a related scientific field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification/license (licenciatura).
- Full proficiency in English and Portuguese.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching science at the middle school level, preferably in an international or bilingual setting.
- Strong knowledge of best practices in science education, including inquiry-based and hands-on teaching methods.
- Experience working with diverse student populations and differentiating instruction.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning and innovation in education.
