Working closely with teachers and the ECC team, this position provides day-to-day support in the classroom, contributing to students’ learning experiences, well-being, and development. The Learning Assistant helps foster positive relationships with children, encourages their independence and participation, and supports the routines and activities that make learning meaningful.

- Support the teacher in planning and carrying out daily activities, helping create a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment.
- Support students throughout learning activities, play, transitions, and daily routines.
- Encourage students’ participation, independence, and development while respecting their individual needs, learning styles, and pace.
- Observe students’ development and well-being and communicate relevant observations with teachers and other members of the team.
- Assist with the organization of the classroom, learning materials, and shared spaces, ensuring an environment that is prepared and appropriate for young learners.
- Support students with age-appropriate daily care and routines, encouraging independence and self-care skills.
- Foster positive, respectful relationships with students and contribute to a strong sense of belonging and community.
- Collaborate with teachers, Learning Assistants, and other ECC team members through clear and consistent communication.
- Participate in meetings, professional development opportunities, and other school activities that contribute to student learning and professional growth.
- Follow ISC policies, procedures, and guidelines, particularly those related to student safety, safeguarding, and well-being.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Pedagogy or Lince Degree (Letras).
- Availability to work during the required schedule for the position.
- Interest in working with young children and supporting their learning and development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other members of the ECC team.
- Responsibility, organization, patience, and a caring approach when working with children.
- Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Portuguese.
- Previous experience working with children, especially in an educational or school environment.
- Experience supporting classroom activities, play-based learning, or children’s daily routines.
- Previous experience in a bilingual or international school environment.
- Familiarity with early childhood education practices and developmentally appropriate activities.
- Additional courses or training related to Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Education.
- Previous experience working as a Learning Assistant, teaching assistant, intern, or in a similar role.
