- Plan and deliver high-quality music instruction that includes:
- Music theory, history, performance, composition, and technology
- Opportunities for individual and ensemble performance
- Integration of diverse musical traditions and global perspectives
- Teach IB Theory of Knowledge (TOK) to High School students:
- Guide students in exploring the nature of knowledge across disciplines
- Facilitate discussions that develop critical thinking, reflection, and academic research
- Support students in completing TOK assessments
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance learning
- Create a supportive and motivating classroom culture
- Mentor and advise students in academic planning, portfolios, and performances
- Support extracurricular music activities (ensembles, concerts, showcases)
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure interdisciplinary learning opportunities
- Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming classroom environment that encourages participation and respects individuality
- Establish clear expectations for student behavior and maintain a structured and supportive learning environment
- Support the school community by contributing to extracurricular activities, school events, and projects
- Collaborate with the High School team, department leads, and performing arts colleagues
- Perform other duties as assigned by the High School Principal
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Music Education, Music Performance, IB Education, or related field
- Proficiency in English (oral and written) is mandatory.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Strong understanding of inquiry-based learning and the IB philosophy.
- Passion for fostering critical thinking and global perspectives.
